Tips and things to keep in mind when requesting samples:
- Anytime you request a free sample, read the fine print.
- Some of the samples require you to confirm through an e-mail. Usually these confirmation e-mails get sent to your spam folder, so always check there. The best thing to do if you plan on frequently signing up for samples is to create a new e-mail address dedicated to samples. You can get a free one through Yahoo, Hotmail, and several others. This way your personal e-mail is not bombarded with the spam that you sometimes get from these offers.
- Also, look closely at what information is required to receive the sample. If your phone number is not required, don't enter it. Same goes for any other bits of information that are not required.
- If you're ever tempted to sign up twice in hopes of getting more than one sample, don't. Most sites will only send one sample per address/phone number/e-mail/etc. Even if it says you've successfully requested a sample for the second time, it may still not work. Submitting a second or third request with the same information may even cancel your first request and you won't receive any at all. Don't get greedy!
- For those of you worried about requesting private items, like condoms and lubricants...80% of the time, these items will come in discreet packages so your postal carrier or anyone else won't know your business. And even if it doesn't, it's not like they'll send you a package with big bold letters screaming, "HERE'S THE CONDOMS YOU REQUESTED!"
- Unfortunately, sometimes you may not receive the samples you request. This is due to several reasons, but it's usually because the company has ran out of samples. Sometimes they will notify you of such an event, and some will even send you something else in lieu of what you requested. Then others simply do nothing.
